The CD-ROM generation module allows the user to generate a subset of the archived data on a CD. A CD may be automatically produced for use as a standalone system with a search and retrieval program designed to reach a large number of users.

The search and retrieval program is web-based and requires no installation at the client end. The user will be able to search and retrieve data by simply inserting the CD-ROM into his/her PC and entering the search criteria in a friendly and easy-to-use web page. The user will be able to save and print the desired results.

CDs may be generated according to different criteria such as a date range, one or more keywords from the thesaurus, one or more subject headings, a source of information, etc.

The generation process requires no help from IDS and may be done easily using easy-to-use programs with all the needed options. The generated data is placed in one directory to be copied on a master CD to be used later for duplication.
